A brand-new sensory garden has been completed at Main House, part of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, as part of our ongoing Social Value commitment.
The entire project was delivered free of charge, with all labour, materials and resources donated by our team to create a welcoming outdoor space that supports wellbeing, relaxation and recovery for service users, staff and visitors.
This collaborative initiative brought together the Manton team, our supply chain partners and the Client and their Design Team to transform an underused outdoor space into a peaceful therapeutic environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Designed to encourage relaxation, reflection and sensory engagement, the new garden includes:
- Bespoke outdoor seating areas
- A timber gazebo
- A new greenhouse with raised planting beds
- Sensory planting opportunities
- Improved pathways and an accessible outdoor space
The finished garden provides a welcoming environment where patients can spend time outdoors, staff can take restorative breaks and visitors can enjoy a calm and attractive setting.
This project demonstrates what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared purpose. By donating all the labour, materials and resources, we were able to create a lasting legacy that will benefit the Trust and its service users for many years to come.
