Joe Manton began trading as a general builder in the Small Heath area of Birmingham back in 1898. He was joined by his son Edward in the 1930’s. The company remained under the ownership of the Manton family until the early 1990’s, when the business was acquired by Edward McMurray and Martyn Webb. The shareholding of the business was transferred to an Employee-Owned Trust in 2022 shortly before Edward’s retirement.
